Soldo you're a lovely chap and I like hearing from you, but mate the bitterness is setting in. It's like your HIV-level hatred of the OS is becoming full-blown AIDS.

Don't go full-blown AIDS.

From the OS:

The Premier League season has only just finished but the speculation has now intensified over which new signings will be arriving at West Ham United.

I, The Insider will be breaking news throughout the summer and giving you the very latest updates on which players are heading in and out of the Club.

There have been a lot of rumours surrounding a possible move for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

My sources have told me that a £31million offer has been made for the prolific forward but the French club turned it down and the Club will now move on.

It is my understanding that the Club have made £20million bids for UK based players this week and they hope to sign the first of two strikers in the next few weeks.

It has been made clear to me that fans should not be concerned if bids are being turned down.

The Premier League season has only just finished and these things happen early on in the transfer window.

I have been told that the Club are determined to get value for money and could bid for a number of players as they look to buy three or four key players.

Fans should be excited by the plans that the Board have this summer and should stay tuned to whufc.com for all the latest news.

There has also been a lot of speculation surrounding the future of talented youngster Reece Oxford.

It is my understanding that Oxford has a contract until 2018 and cannot sign a longer term deal until he is 18.

Negotiations are still ongoing and he has not turned down any offers.

Re: Payet - Real rumours that he is the one for them
Mike, as The Guardian pithily puts it: "Will Dimitri Payet be fourth in line for free-kick duties at Real Madrid next season?"

And, without his free kicks would Dimitri even be in 1st team?

If Real are going for a Prem player for massive outlay, personally think Hazard, Mahrez (Algerian: Zidane's BOUND to like him) or even Kane still more likely, no matter what's been said.

Everything is currently made-up bollocks. RM have a CL cup to still win.

haha! Fair enough, Real Madrid have a slightly better chance of signing him than us!

I wasn't referring to us, I was referring to Real

Juventus signed Dybala for about €40m and he's scored 19 goals for them this season.

I can't see us pulling that off in a million years.

Paulo DYBALA will be their marquee signing if it comes off

who are they signing then? where's the big list of players better?

Re: Payet - Real rumours that he is the one for them
Love Payet, of course, but anyone suggesting he could be Real Madrid's "marquee signing" of the summer is on crack. He's good, he's OUR good, but he's not THAT good!!!

If Mario Goetze was a serious replacement consideration, that would soften the blow quite dramatically!

Maybe his agent needs another pay rise and is trying to get as many golden eggs out of his prize goose as he can.

I hate and love the transfer window in equal measure.

Take the 50 large big one's. (If that's the buy out.?) Then go and blow the likes of Liverpool out of the water. With a 30 million+ bid for Gotze.!

Hang on, just read on Alan's thread (thanks Alan) that this rumour comes from Le 10 Sport...?

And who the fuck are they? Not convinced by this at all.

He was behind Griezmann for France at the beginning, I wonder if he's first choice FK taker now?

Imagine being Dimi Payet with your ability to take a decent free kick but you're still sixth in line to take one.

Re: Payet - Real rumours that he is the one for them
As has been said if he leaves he leaves. It would undoubtedly be a big setback, almost more for the way it portrays the club, but as has been said...few clubs can resist when Barca or Real come calling. For some reason those two seem to have a mystique about them that even the likes of Bayern, Juve and others don't quite hold.

It's vital we have contingency plans in place of course...not easy given the type of player that Payet is, but in all honesty how many of us had heard about him this time last year. I certainly hadn't.

Say we lost Payet for 50m, replaced him on the left hand side with (as an example) Andre Ayew for 15m, and with the left over cash were able to pick up someone like Tore, just how much worse off would we be. The key thing with a windful like that is to replace the guy with no more than 3 players but ideally two...clubs go wrong when they try and buy 5 or 6. Would two players...one for 20m and one for 30m make us a better side than just having Payet...who knows, but it's more than possible.

Yes Payet is the Talisman of the fans and the side at present, but if you look beyond his first 20 games, since injury he's been effective without being the truly dominant force he was in those early games before teams got tight on him.

He hasn't been beating 5 or 6 players, he hasn't been smashing in every other direct freekick, many of his assists have been from corners/deadballs (and that's where we'd miss him most) and he's been a bit missing in a number of games in open play.

It would be a big blow, but life would go on...and West Ham COULD come out of it stronger.

Re: Payet - Real rumours that he is the one for them
Would Payet's departure mean that Mark Noble resumes his role as our free kick specialist?

Re: Payet - Real rumours that he is the one for them
He won't go.

Bilic will give him a long lecture about being loyal to west ham after one season, and how you shouldn't have your head turned just because someone else is interested.

Oh, wait a minute....

Roeder-nowhere 1:35 Wed May 18
Re: Payet - Real rumours that he is the one for them
Agree on last posts, if Real M want him more than likely they'll get him so we need to max as much as we can get for him.
Likewise even if we get 50 mil that doesn't guarantee replacing him for an equally able, talented or good fit for us as a replacement. We could spend the whole lot on a direct replacement and he might hate london & not perform or just not be the same. Look how many big money flops the workd has seen.

We'd have to be extremely cute with the cash,no guatantee we'd get our targets or that they'd be right. So keep at all costs bar him actually being determined to leave... then ofc no point in holding on
